In 1620 a group of puritans set sail for America in Mayflower and this is a version of the story of the struggles of their crossing on board a crowded sailing boat. The Mayflower is a very new boat and sanitised and Anthony Hopkins is more Shakespearian than sea captain, however it does give a flavour of the voyage.
