In Mars Attacks Tim Burton has produced a spoof of 1950's Sci-Fi B movies in which he brought together an impressive cast to produce a film that is part comedy and part satire. The funny parts are the B-movie send ups, but it sstuggles a bit with the satire on contemporary Amican attitudes. This is a frustrating film in that it is both funny in parts and disappointing in other parts and as a result some of the performances are good and others less good.
