Paul Newman is a spy who is set up for a diamond robbery for which he is sent to prison so that he can infiltrate a spy ring. The plot is not great and the film is disappointing despite a good cast, though this is not the best work from either Paul Newman or James Mason. The film is based on the novel The Freedom Trap by Desmond Bagley.
