Comment/Synopsis
A man (Dennis Price) murders all his relatives ( all played bymAlec Guinness) in an attempt to inherit the title that he thinks rightfully belongs to him. One if the interests in the film is Alec Guinness playing eight different members of the family. He plays the charcters and in many ways is both differnt and also recognisable in each of the. This is one of the great comedies to come out of Ealing Studio's in the 1940's and one of the best British comedies of the period. Dennis Pryce gives one of his best performances both as the character and the voice over. This film was significant for the voice over as well as the social comment. The film has influenced many films since.
