A man (Kevin McCarthy) discovers that the people in the town are being replaced by aliens that take on the human form of their hosts in this classic Sci-Fi film. The film builds on the horror of an unseen invasion and the paranoia associated with the isolation of being alone against the enemy. This is set against the back ground of American fears of 1940s totalitarianism and 1950s paranoia.
