A professional violinist (Leslie Howard) returns home after a tour and falls in love with beautiful and gifted piano teacher (Ingrid bergman) of his daughter (Ann Todd). He leaves his wife (Edna Best) and family and goes on tour with her as his accompanist, however the guilt of their love triangle and her career aspiration lead to prolems in their relationship. On one level this is a classic love triangle and on another a man with a mid life crisiss. It is however notable for being the first English language film by Ingrid Bergman and her beauty and elegance shines through, with good support from a young Ann Todd as the daughter.
