A woman suspects that her husband's business meetings are really him having an affair so she hires an actor to make him jealous. However due to a mistake she ends up with a wealthy business man, this leads to all sorts of complicatins mainly due to Fred MacMurray and Madeline Carroll not properly talking and communicating with each other. Whilst the plot is a little silly in places there are plenty of funny scenes. It is the performance of Madeleine Carroll that makes the film.
