An American airman (Dean Jagger) is billeted in a house in Grosvenor Square owned by a Duke (Robert Morley) and he meets an English airman (Rex Harrison). However he falls in love with the English man's girlfriend (Anna Neagle) who is the relative of the Duke with the inevitable emotional consequences. This is a late World War 2 film that plays on the theme of the differences of the American's and the British as well as the problems of relationships in the middle of a war. Anna Neagle was married to the director Herbert Wilcox.
