Comment/Synopsis

Charlie Chaplin goes for a job at a film studio, starts off as a carpenter and then stands in for one of the actor, but causes chaos and mayhem on set. This is a series of physical slapstick jokes in the first of Chaplins films for Essanay films after leaving Keystone Pictures. This is not a classic Chalpin comedy but does have an early film version of the plank sketch and has Chapln playing his comedy against serious background characters.
