During a routine space shuttle mission, debris from an exploded satelite destroys the spacecraft and leaves the two survivors (Sandra Bullock and George Clooney) sruggling to find a way to survive and return safely to earth. Whist this film is visually impessive with several seet piece CGI heavy scenes, it suffers from bad science, a lack of complexity of plot for a disaster film and no character development. Sandra Bullock does well with the material she has to work with, the problem lies with the plot. If you want to watch a film of nice visuals then you will enjo this but if you want a film of acting, lot and characters then this is not for you. The film is all about the effects rather than the characters and is slightly disconcerting as there is no horizon to orientate yourself around.
