When a love letter is found at a German girls finishing school, one of the girls (Simone Simon) is suspected of writing it, but she will not admit who it was written to, but suspicion falls on the headmaster (Herbert Marshall). The plot is melodramatic and not really convincing. Simone Simon oozes sexualtiy as she falls for Herbert Marshall, but he is unconvincing as the headmaster falling for a student. Ruth CHatterton is caught in the middle as the teacher who has been secretly in love with Herbert Marshall for years but never expressed herself.
