A man (Clint Walker) being chassed by a posse rescues a woman (Virginia Mayo) and her young son from an Indian attack and he escorts her to a Fort. The journey is not without incident and along the way she suspects that he may be responsible for the death of her husband. The plot is not particularly orriginal though there is a solid performance from Virginia Mayo as the ranchers wife.
