This sequel to the 1931 Dracula film starts with van Helsing being arrested for the murder of Dracula. He seeks the help of a psychiatrist who is sceptical about vampires. At this point Dracula's daughter arrives, steals and burns her fathers body. She then seeks the help of Von Helsing's psychiatrist to remove the vampire curse from her. Gloria Holden is elegant but very flat and monotone as the vampire and shows no fangs or other vampire traits. There are some humorous scenes but these have not stood the test of time and add nothing to the film. Much of the plot revolves around hypnosis and there is a sort of lesbian sub-plot which all seem to end up blurring the script and plot.
