A comedian teams up with a dancer to form a variety act in a vaudervlle / burlesque theatre. They get married but when he gets his big break he goes off without her, but his life and career falls apart whilst she joins up with a rich rancher. The plot of life and love behind the scenes in a theatre is nothhing special, but it is a good period piece of an early talkie portraying vaudaville in the late 1920's. It is based on a braodway play and parts of it show these origins. There is a good performance from Nancy Carroll that made Barbara Stanwyck famous on stage.
