A young orphan girl lives a difficult life in an orphanage until she is taken under the wing of an unknown sponsor and sent to a boarding school. Later she falls in love with an older man, only she does not realise it is her anonymous sponsor.The whole film revolves around the performance of Mary Pickford and demonstartes both her comic and dramatic skills.
