Comment/Synopsis
The author of a poular cooking column in a magazine (Barabara Stanwyck) tells her readers and editor that she lives on a farm with her husband and child, however she is actually single and lives in a flat in town. When her editor tells her that she has to entertain a war hero for Christmas for the next edtion she has to find a farm and family. This is a good mix of romance and a comedy of errors. Barbara Stanwyck gives a great entertaining performance as the woman trying to juggle a series of lies and relationships well upported by S Z Sakall as her uncle and the real chef. It was remade, not as well, in 1991 with Dyan Cannon and a television setting.
