A gypsy woman helps a group of smugglers to move their goods into the local town by using her charm on the leader of the local military guard. He falls in love with her, but she is in love with a matador creating a love triangle that has fatal consequences. Although the bull fight may offend some modern sensibilities, it is part of the story and a popular event when the film was made.
