The intertwined and distinctly unpleasant goings on in small town America. Kyle Maclachlan gets his girl friend Laura Dern to help him investigate the life of Isabella Rossellini and her unpleasant friends. This is a well crafted film, that is also unnerving and exposes suburban American life. it is arguably the high point of of David Lynch's work. He merges reality, fantasy and dreams in a mystery on the surface, but moves darker.
