Two young children go on a magical quest to find the Blue Bird so that they can make a young girl happy again. Despite a good cast, the film is let down by a weak script and production values. The film is a curiosity as it is the only joint American-Russian production that was mdae during the cold war. It was filmed in Russia under difficult and basic circumstances. Elizabeth Taylor comes across as quite patronising to the children, but RObert Morley is fun singing a song as Father Time.
