A woman becomes the eight wife of Blue Beard and is given the run of the castle except one room which she has the key for. however temptation gets the better of her and when she enters the room she find the bodies of the previous wives hanging up. This is one of Melies early narrative films with impressive sets and arguably one of the earliest horror films as you see the ex-wives hanging up in the locked room.
