A married Broadway producer (van Helfin) meets a young aspiring writer (Peggy Ann Garner) at a party thrown by an actress (Ginger Rogers). He lets the woman use his apartment to work in, but when she is found murdered in his apartment, he is suspected of her murder and has to prove his innocence. The plot is not great but there are generally good performances from a strong cast.
