An newly married man (Cary Grant) takes his new wife (Priscilla Lane) to see his pair of old aunts only to find that they are killing off lonely old men and burying them in the basement with the help of his brother who thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt. Things get complicated when the other brother (Raymond Massey) who has murdered a man arrives. This is an entertaining adaptation of the stage play with plenty of energy from Cary Grant. Frank Capra get good performances from all the main players. There are various references to Boris Karloff who was appearing in the stge play at the tme of the film being made and released.
