Annie Oakley enters a shooting contest against Toby Walker who was the top billing in Buffalo Bills Wild West Show. As a result she is offered a job in the show. Their growing friendship is put under presure when she gets top billing over him. This is the Hollywood version of the Annie Oakley story that has very good recreations of scenes from the orriginal show thanks to George Stevens direction. It is also helped by a good performance from Barbara Stanwyck in the lead role.
