George Clooney is a hit man who tells his contact that his next hit will be his last. He hides out in a small rural Italian town where he is contacted by Thekla Reuten with details of the gun he is to make and he befriends the local priest (Paolo Bonacelli) as well as a local prostitute (Violante Placido). This is not action thriller, but a beautifully filmed, slow paced character study. There is not a lot of background to the characters but this about how they interact with each other particularly how George Clooney's relationship develops with Violante Placido. This was filmed in Italy, with Italian actors, some Italian dialogue by a Dutch director which limited it box office success.
