Comment/Synopsis

An upper class family and their butler (Kenneth More) are shipwrecked on a tropical island. As the butler is the only person with any skills to keep them alive, the normal social order is overturned and the butler becomes the chief of the group. This is good comedy about class and social relationships. There are very good performances from all the cast and in particular from Kenneth More. The story was proviously filmed as Male And Female by Cecil B DeMIlle as a silent drama. The film is based on the play by J M Barrie.
