A married man is having an affair with a night club singer. His wife knows about the affair and is fending off the approaches of another man. One night they go back to the singers flat where he falls asleep drunk and she is killed by her estranged husband. He wakes up to find her body and is the prime suspect for her murder. The basic plot has been used many times, but this is a good variation for the period though the first half is more of avehicle for Miriam Hopkins singing talents.
