Leonardo DiCaprio became an major star after appearing in the very successful film Titanic. He started his acting career in commercials and then small roles on television. His first significant film role was in This Boy's Life. This was followed by What's Eating Gilbert Grape for which he was Oscar nominated as Best Supporting Actor for his role as a special needs teenager. In his early films he played difficult and troubled characters. In Romeo and Juliet it is moved to a modern setting but still kept much of the original dialogue. This film brought him to public attention and a star. THis was reinforced by his role in James Cameroon's Titanic. After this big commercial films he then did Danny Boyle's The Beach. He then plays the con man in Steven Spielberg's Catch me If You Can as he plays the several different charcters that his character inhabits. He worked with Martin Scorsese in Gangs Of New York and also in The Aviator for which he got a Best Actor Oscar nomination. The Departed is a gangster film again from Martin Scorsese. After te action film Blood Diamond and the drama Revolutionary Road he moved into science fiction with Christopher Nolan's Inception. The suspense thriller Shutter Island was another Martin Scorsese film. He then worked with Quentin Tarantino in Django Unchained in which he plays a villan. THe Wolf Of Wall Street from Martin Scorsese ws a commercial success and gained him another Best Actor Oscar nomination. He finally won his Best Actor Oscar for his performance in The Revenant as he fights for survival in wilds. Once Upon A Time...In Hollywood was anothe Quentin Tarantino film and gained him another Best Actor Oscar nomination. The action thriller One Battle After Another gained him another Best Actor Oscar nomination.
