Career / Biography

Frank Capra was a producer and director of films from the 1920's to the 1950's. His early work was in silent films before moving into sound films. He best known to most people for directing the classic Christmas film It's A Wonderful Life. He was nominated for 6 Best Director Oscar's and won 3 of them. He directed several comedies and also the politcal satire Meet John Doe. With It Happened One Night he effectively set the standard for romantic comedies. Most of the standard tropes of romantic comedies can be traced back to this film.
