A rich socialite banker (Dan Aykroyd) has his life switched with a down and out (Eddie Murphy) as a bet between two rich old men to see how he copes losing everything (status, wealth, friends and girlfriend). Denholm Elliott is the butler who helps Eddie Murphy adjust to his new life in corportae business. Jamie Lee Curtis helps out a destitute Dan Aykroyd. When they all work out what is happening they set out to prove what happened and get their own back on those who had set them up. This is an entertaining comedy, that is well written and produced, with good performances from Eddie Murphy, Dan Aykroyd though it is the supporting performances from Jamie Lee Curtis and Denholm Elliott that are the gems of the film. Some parts of the film are dated and the language not apporiate in contemporary films. It does still remain a good satire 1980's financial excess.
