Comment
A newspaper man (Sidney Blackmer) and his future son in law (Dana Andrews) who are against capital punishment and think people are being executed wrongly come up with a plan to expose the problem. When a woman is murdered and the police have no leads, they create clues that lead the police to think the murderer is the son in law. They tell no one, even his fiance (Joan Fontaine), but then thinks go wrong. This is a well worked story with a nice twist. There is a good performance from Dana Andrewss in the lead role. There is good support from Barbara Nichols as the show girl who is the main witness in the case and Joan Fontaine as the fiance. This was Fritz Lang's final film in America.
