Ferdinand Zecca was an early film pioneer working in France for the Pathe brothers. His was a mix of fantasy and trick films as well as narrative an story films. He worked with Seguno de Chomon and his special effects. À la conquête de l'airis considered the first film of flight predating the Wright Brothers and Histoire d'un crime the first crime drama that also used flash backs to tell part of the story.
