Comment/Synopsis
An ex-fighter pilot (Dana Andrews) suffering from post traumatic stress has to land a passenger plane when the crew and most of the passengers go down with food poisoning including his son. He is helped by his wife (Linda Darnell) and former commanding officer (Sterling Hayden). This is a 1950's style disaster film that is notable for being the basis of the spoof disaster film Airplane.
