This is a good adaptation of the Emily Bronte novel that tells the story of Cathy (Merele Oberon) being torn between two men, the orphan boy Heathcliff (Laurence Olivier) brought into the family by her father and her rich and upper class neighbour (David Niven). This film does a good job in portraying the passions and emotions of the story with good performances frm Merle Oberon and Laurence Olivier as Cathy and Heathcliffe, though David Niven is a little too stiff. The film is based on the novel by Emily Bronte.
