In the 17th Century a woman (Margaret Lockwood) marries her friends (Patricia Roc) fiance (Griffith Jones) for love and prestige, but after getting bored in the country, she takes up a double life as a highway robber. There is a very good performance from Margaret Lockwood as the woman tempted by danger and the excitement of an affair with James Mason. This is a good British historical drama, that has good performances, good script but met trouble with the US censors due to the low cut dresses.
