A researcher (Lon Chaney Jr) in the brings back a new wife (Anne Gwynne) from a tropical island who has a reputation for supernatural powers to the annoyance of his previous girl friend (Evelyn Ankers). This is a good psychological mystery as reason meets superstition. Anne Gwynne is good as wife caught up in the intrigue but the best performance is from Evelyn Ankers as the spurned lover plotting her complex revenge at the cost of other peoples lives.
