In Scotland during World War 2 a young boy finds an egg that hatches and the creature rapidly grows to to a giant sea creature to become the legend of the Loch Ness monster. He tries to hide the creature from his mother Emily Watson and is helped by the handyman Ben Chaplin. Brian Cox tells the story as several flash backs from the present. The plot and characters are quite thin but the creature has a charm and is well animated.
