Comment
A rancher (John Wayne) is has his gold bearing land stolen from him by an unscrupulous rancher (Bruce Cabot). but he is sent to prison. After he gets out of prison he teams up with the man who shot him (Kirk Douglas) and several other men including an Indian (Howard Keel) to rob an armoured stage coach that transports the gold. Meanwhile Bruce Cabot approaches Kirk Douglas to kill John Wayne. This is not so much a western but a heist film revolving around the interplay of the gang characters set against a western background. The best part of the film is the interplay between John Wayne and Kirk Douglas.
