The Martians invade earth and start destroying everthing and everyone in their path. The military try to stop them as do the scientists helped by Gene Barry, This is a good version of the classic H G Wells Sci-Fi novel that is set in America. This version was made at the height of the cold war and reflects the fears and paranoia of that time including to the use of the atomic bomb which fails. The horror is that there is nothing that stop the advance of the Martians.
