A woman from a wealthy family decides to see the other side of life by getting a job in a factory and renting a one room flat in a poor part of 1960's London. The films shows a gritty side of London life with abuse, illegitimate babies and illegal abortions. Suzy Kendall is good in the lead as the rich girl playing at being poor and there is good support from a young Dennis Waterrman who becomes infatuated with her.
