A young woman leaves her rural home with a plan to make her way up in Denver society. This is a film version of the stage musical of the life of Maggie Brown, Denver socialte who is also known for surviving the sinking of the Titanic. As is usual with this type of film, there is a degree of artisitc licence taken with reality, but it is an entertaining musical biopic, with Debbie Reynolds singing and dancing her way through the film.
