A young doctor (Lyle Talbot) marries a woman (Joyce Compton) from outside of his social circle but she then starts an affair with a friend (Ivan Lebedeff) of his. It falls to his father (H B Warner) and friend (Lila Lee) to sort out the relationship. This is a very loose adaptation of Madame Bovary by Gustav Flaubert moved from France to 1930's America. There is a good performance from Joyce Compton as the scheming woman using her sexuality for her own ends and good support from Lila Lee as the family friend and solid but dour performance from H B Warner as the father.
