Two men are painting a shop front and one of them takes a shine to the female assistant. Howver when she also attracts the attention of the local policeman, he tips paint over the policeman and a chase follows. They meet various other characters during the chase, most of whom delay the policeman more than the boy. This first scene is a set, but the chase scenes are filmed on location. This is an example of an early British comedy.
