Comment/Synopsis

Joan Crawford is the prima donna star of a musical show whose life is callenged and changed by a blind piano player (Michael Wilding) brought in to accompany her at rehearsals. Joan Crawford appeared in a number of good films, but this is not one of them. The script and dialogue are poor and the overly vivid colours of the Technicolor filming make it garish rather than helping the fell of the film. Joan Crawford sings and dances a couple of musical numbers, but otherwise is just going through the motions. The one highlight of the film is the nice natural performancefrom Marjorie Rambeau as Joan Crawford's mother.
