When an object crashes in the arctic, a military plane is sent to a remote scientific base to support the scientists in their investigation. They find a survivor from a crashed flying saucer and have to defend themselves from the alien life form. The plot has been reused many times since as the alien in the arctic plot, but this is good for an early 1950's version, although the chief scientist is too preachy for the science as the cure all, but that reflects the time of its production. Margaret Sheridan is the love interest in the film and has a slightly stronger role than many women in sci-fi films of the period.
