Charles Laughton in California corresponds with Carole Lombard in New York and then invites her to marry him, but sends him a photo of his foreman William Gargan. She moves to his vineyard, but Charles Laughton has an accident and she then gets pregnant by William Gargan. They all then have to deal with the situation. Worth watching for Carole Lombard and a film from the period dealing with such issues.
