Nine very different people from different walks of life appear at the gates of a city that challenges their social norms and expectations. This is a film adaptation of J B Priestly's stage play that is a social / political comment on British society in the 1940's. This is very wordy and not an entertaining film but is an interesting social and ploitical comment of the time. This is very differnt to most of Ealing Studio's productions.
