Giant mutant ants start killing people in the desert the a scientist (Edmund Gwenn) and his daughter (Joan Weldon) are brought in to kill them but two queens escape and start a new colony in Los Angeles that then has to be destroyed. This is one of the best of the creature features from the 1950's with some good effects for the period.
