Shirley Maclaine sings and dances her way through this Bob Fosse version of the Neil Simon stage production. The attraction of this film are the set piece song and dance numbers choreographed by Bob Fosse. Shirley Maclaine is impressive in these and the Aloof sequence is both strange and curious with its use of the cigarette smoke and styalised dance style. The film is also unusual in its use of still photographs.
