Patricia Arquette is a young athiest American woman starts to manifest the stigmata (the wounds of Christ being crucified) and Gabriel Byrne is the priest sent by the church to investigate. An interesting film beased around the effects of the stigmata on persons life, even though the portrayal of the Christian faith is far from reality.
