Earth is threatened by an invasion of violent alien bugs. A group of idealistic teenagers join up and experience the harsh realities of war in a battle across the galaxy. This is a visually impressive but violent mix of sci-fi and war film. It mixes personal stories and relationships with the brutality of war. There are various issues with the plot, like why if you can fly across the galaxy you still use old fashioned automatic rifles to kill the enemy is not clear and ehere is the air cover and the bombs? Despite that, it is a good action film with good performances from Patrick Muldoon and Dina Meyer, though Denise Richards performance lacks the passion her character needs.
